STSMs fund a researcher to visit a host institution in another participating country to learn a technique, build a collaboration, or advance a shared Working Group output. Six are funded this round.
There are two ways an STSM begins: you find a host institution yourself, or a host proposes a mission and invites an applicant. Either way, the four steps below apply.

Find or match a host
Identify a host institution — or respond to one that has proposed a mission — and agree the goal together.

Draft a plan
Write a short work plan linking the mission to a Working Group output.

Submit on COST
Apply through the COST platform before the deadline.
04
Report back
After the mission, submit a short report and contribute your output.
